Khalil Shaheen is a researcher and a media expert. He is also a member of the board of secretaries and the director of research and policies at the Palestinian Center for Policy Research and Strategic Studies - Masaraat, of which he is a cofounder. Since 1981, he worked as a journalist, editor, and researcher in a number of media outlets and institutes in Lebanon, Syria, Cyprus, Jordan and Palestine. He additionally worked as an executive of Aibal Institute for Studies and Publishing and the Yafa Center for Research in Cyprus (1989-1999). He worked as director of planning at the Ministry of Work in Ramallah (1995-2004), and he was member of the national team for the strategy of Palestinian employment. He worked as editor in the Palestinian newspaper Al-Ayyam (1995-2010) and as the main editor of the Arabic version of Le Monde Diplomatique in Palestine (2007-2010). He has written many political essays, papers, studies, and reports in the field of media coverage, elections and gender for local and international organizations.
